Core privacy information
Last updated: 3 September 2026
This section explains the core personal-information practices used for lovelenceria.co.uk. It supplements any more specific privacy information already on this page.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the store, we may collect contact and account details, billing and delivery information, order and return records, products viewed or placed in a basket, communication preferences, customer-service messages, and technical information such as device, browser, approximate location, security logs and cookie or analytics identifiers.
Payment information
Payments are processed by the payment providers offered at checkout. We receive information such as payment status, provider reference and limited fraud or verification results needed to administer the order. We do not ask you to send full payment-card details by email.
Why we use information
We use personal information to provide the website, take and fulfil orders, arrange delivery and returns, provide customer support, prevent fraud and security incidents, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, measure and improve store performance, and send communications where permitted.
UK legal bases
Where UK data-protection law applies, processing may be necessary to perform a contract with you, comply with a legal obligation, pursue legitimate interests that are not overridden by your rights, or rely on consent where consent is required. Electronic direct marketing is also subject to the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).
Who receives information
We may share only the information reasonably necessary with payment providers, hosting and technology providers, analytics providers, email and communications providers, fulfilment partners, suppliers where they dispatch an order, delivery carriers, professional advisers, fraud-prevention services and public authorities where legally required. These parties may act as processors on our instructions or as independent controllers for their own regulated services.
Cookies and analytics
The website may use essential cookies required for baskets, checkout, security and account functions, and may use analytics or other non-essential technologies subject to the choices presented through the site’s cookie controls where required.
International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an applicable recognised transfer mechanism or another lawful safeguard.
Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including order fulfilment, customer support, accounting and tax records, fraud prevention, dispute handling and legal compliance. Different record types may therefore have different retention periods.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions in applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to certain processing, request portability, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You also have an absolute right to object to processing for direct marketing. Requests can be made using the Contact details on the website. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so you should also protect your account credentials and contact us if you suspect unauthorised use.
Children
The store is not designed to collect personal information from children. If we learn that personal information was provided by a child contrary to applicable requirements, we will take appropriate steps to remove or otherwise handle it lawfully.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The current version is published on this page. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent using the Contact details shown on the website.

Incomplete checkout and payment recovery
If you begin checkout, attempt payment, or leave items in your basket without completing a purchase, we may process information you have already provided together with basket or order details, value and currency, checkout or payment status, and limited session or technical information. We use this information to keep checkout working, diagnose payment problems, prevent duplicate or invalid recovery and, where appropriate, help you resume checkout or retry payment.
We send an electronic recovery or abandonment reminder only where we have a lawful basis and the PECR requirements are met, for example valid consent or a compliant soft-opt-in where available. Required opt-out choices are respected at collection and in messages, and objections or withdrawals are added to suppression controls. Purely administrative service messages are kept separate from promotional content.
We stop or suppress recovery when we receive confirmation that the order completed, when the basket is deliberately cleared in a way that indicates recovery should not continue, when you opt out or withdraw applicable consent, or when our systems determine that contact is no longer appropriate. Payment-failure recovery is service-led and does not offer a discount solely because a payment failed.
For adult-product stores, recovery communications are designed to be discreet and may omit sensitive product detail. Full payment-card data is not included in recovery emails.
